SECOND TERM 2020/2021 NEWSLETTER

To God be the glory for His benevolence and mercy on us. We fervently thank Him for seeing us through the term. We give Him all praises for making this term another huge success.

The Second Term 2020/2021 Academic Session commenced on Monday 18th January, 2021. We expressed our profound gratitude to all our esteemed parents/guardians who despite the current situation of the country and limited resources went out of their ways in purchasing all recommended textbooks and necessary stationery for their children in order to excel in their academic pursuit.

SCHOOL APPROVAL

The management of the school is pleased to inform our esteemed parents that FAD-FAR COLLEGE, IGBOGBO has been approved by the LAGOS STATE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION. The school has also been granted approval by WEST AFRICA EXAMINATIONS COUNCIL(WAEC), NATIONAL EXAMINATIONS COUNCIL(NECO)LAGOS STATE BASIC EDUCATION CERTIFICATE EXAMINATION to conduct its examinations.

LEC EXAMINATION

Primary Five (5) learner sat for LEAMP EXAMINATION COUNCIL (LEC) on March 6 2021. The result was released two weeks later and their performance brilliant.

MID – TERM TEST:  The Schools Mid – Test began in Week 7 of the Schools’ Academic Calendar which ran through Week 8. The learners indeed showed their academic prowess as the overall academic success of learners was put at 70 percent.

SPORT COMPETITION: College learners took part in  the ANNUAL INTER-SCHOOL COMPETITION organized by NIGERIA SCHOOLS SPORT FEDERATION on 24th March, 2021. Otubambo Sherifat (chess), Omisanya Faridah (Monopoly), Alowole Razaq (scrabble), Olateju Farhen (scrabble) and Ayorinde Adeyemi(Ludo) all came first and they will be representing Ikorodu at the state level of the competition.

EXAMINATION: The learners of the Schools were engaged in the Second Term Examination in Week 13 through Week 14. We cannot but thank all parents who went out of their ways to assist their wards to earn this excellent result.

STUDENT AFFAIRS: The Management of the Schools has however noticed strange behaviours among the College learners that do not conform with the policy, vision and mission statement of the school which we will like to address through this medium so as to get the support of parents and guardians.

Lateness has been observed among our learners. Investigation carried out showed that keeping late night on social media platforms and seeing of late night movies are responsible for their late coming to school. Parents/Guardians should endeavour that all these social vices are being curbed and put under their control.

Our children are our mirrors; who we are, is a reflection of our children, therefore the state of our students uniform and their dressing is very worrisome as it does not project a good image of parents and  the school. The schools will not tolerate students with tattered uniforms and inappropriate dressing going forward. Parents/Guardians are therefore advised to supervise the maintenance of their wards’ uniforms and ensure they dress appropriately before coming to the school.

TRANSPORTATION: It has been brought to our notice that some parents are in the habit of delaying the school bus undermining the efficiency of the School Transport Service. We would like to appeal to parents to prepare their wards before the arrival of the School Bus because once the bus leaves their premises, parents will be expected to bring their wards themselves. We equally use this medium to appreciate parents/guardians whose wards are using the school transport service for their understanding and tolerance over the various technical and mechanical faults that were encountered during this term. We hope to serve you better in subsequent terms.

SCHOOL FEES: The Management of the Schools want to register our appreciation to all parents/guardians for acceding to the clarion call. We pray that Almighty God, who is the great provider, meets us at every point of our needs.

As you are all aware that the only source of revenue for the school is the fee, in this regard, we are imploring you to always pay promptly to be able to provide effective services you have always been expecting and to retain our work force, which is a strong aid to our service. As we prepare for our THIRD TERM 2020/2021 ACADEMIC SESSION which will begin Monday 4th May 2021; the Management of the Schools has concluded that going forward OPERATION SHOW YOUR TELLER POLICY from the very first day of school resumption would be put in place which means that NO LEARNER WILL BE ALLOWED INTO THE SCHOOL WITHOUT A PROOF OF PAYMENT.
